TBF Assignment: Companies & Stakeholders

Published on Monday 15 January 2018

Imagine you are opening a coffee shop.

Like any other business, you will have six core stakeholders: investors, government, community groups, employees, media and consumers.

Think about who, specifically, those stakeholders might be. Who would invest? Who in government would you need to speak to? What community groups would be interested? Who are your employees? What media might cover you? Who are your potential customers?

For each stakeholder, write out the kinds of people you might be talking to. And then what methods of communication you might use to reach those people (eg meetings, phone calls, releases, events, a website, social media).

Now imagine you are running Starbucks.

Think about who, specifically, your stakeholders might be now. Who are your investors? Who in government is interested? What community groups do you need to talk to? Who are your employees? What media might cover you? Who are your customers?

For each stakeholder, write out the kinds of people you might be talking to. And then what methods of communication you might use to reach those people.
